You make a New Year's Resolution?
Of course you did. I did. I make them every year.
Sometimes they get me in trouble, especially when I make them drunk and in front of friends (like the year I bragged "I can run a marathon," and 9 months later found myself at mile 22 of the Chicago Marathon just wishing I had brought some cash with me so I could pay a car to hit me and put me out of my misery). And sometimes they get in fun (like when I put a piercing in a part of my body that no needle should ever, ever go near).
But sometimes they just make me put my money where my mouth is.

We men thrive on challenge. That means the surest way to get us to do something is to tell us we can't. And this year, I decided it was way past damn time to prove to the world that EVERY MAN can get a Great Girl without being fake, without being an asshole, and without becoming something he's not.
I resolve to get you a Great Girl with the oldest trick in the book: Be. Yourself.
Sounds too obvious, right? Sounds too easy. Sounds like it will never work. It does. It will. And I am going to give you the plan to make it work.
There is a trick to it, and it's like my friend Johnny (who you probably know from his unbelievable CliffsList and David D. interviews) said when we were teaching together.
"When she says 'just be yourself,' what she really means is please please please God don't be someone else!"
There is a way to Get the Girls You Want by being yourself, your best self. But it doesn't come easy. It's a journey, and that journey demands a guide.

It's frustrating as hell, isn't it? You can handle work. You can handle money. You can even handle the battle of going out in the world every day and making things on your own as a strong, independent man. But for some damn reason, that thing with women just never seems to get solved.
I said the same thing to myself just a few years ago when I was sitting in my office at Stanford University, collecting a nice fat $100K+ per year to tell the smartest medical and scientific researchers in the world how to get vital research in the hands of more people.
I was making great money. I had a great house parkside in beautiful Mission Dolores, San Francisco. Hell, I had everything so under control I would take off most afternoons with my trusty Blackberry in hand, and surf the afternoon away, all on the clock.
It's the perfect picture of a guy who got it all... except for one thing.
I didn't Get the Girls I Wanted.
I'm not a Pickup Artist. I don't even know for sure what that means.
I was a nerdy kid. I liked books, and dictionaries, and computers and science fiction. I was not a popular kid, and I was not a star athlete. I wasn't a cool musician in a band, and I didn't go to rowdy house parties.
I was a dork. And I still am.
Sure, I got some girls, sometimes. But it didn't matter whether I was 16 and getting nothing, or 32 and getting hotties... it all stayed the same when I wasn't getting the one thing that trumped all else. I should not, would not, could not,
Get the Girls I Want.
There's something crazily accurate about your instincts when it comes to girls. When you trust yourself, it turns out that the girls you want the most are exactly the girls you are supposed to be with, and the ones who most want to be with you, if only you can get out of your own way. And NO ONE else can tell you who that is.
You gotta trust yourself, and go for exactly what you want. I mean, Angelina Jolie could walk into this Starbucks right now looking all pouty lipped and kinda bitchy, just like I like my women, and shoot me that look that's gotten her millions of dollars Academy Awards and Brad Pitt. And I'd look back, and say to myself...
"Nah."
Not out of fear. Not because I wouldn't LOVE to tell my buddies the story of how I snaked Angelina away from pretty-boy and all-around cool dude Brad. But just because... I don't want her. She's just not a Girl I Want.
I don't know why that is, I just know that I feel it.
And so do you. You feel it in your bones, your blood, and yes, your cock, when you really want a girl. It doesn't matter what anyone else says, she's the one who you keep looking back at, even though you are terrified and convinced you don't know what to do. No one else can tell you what you want, not your parents, not your friends, not some Bullshit Artist, and not even lil' old me.
Nothing is as important in your life as Getting the Girls You Want, because until you do it, you will carry regret in everything else you do. You have to do it, even if you know it's a mistake. You have to get her, even if you know it will make everything a mess. God knows I did.
You may have to get crazy drug-addicted strippers, because you really want them. God knows I did.
You may have to get sweet, smart, secretly sexy girls who turn it on like the dirty librarian of your fantasies. God knows I did.
You may have to get that girl who's dating a guy you secretly envy and hate, just to prove you can.

Why Learn from Me? Who the Hell Am I to Tell You How to Get the Girls You Want?
Smart question. Here's a smart answer.
I've been meeting and dating great girls for over 20 years, and I was pulling drunk little hotties out of clubs all over America when the "pickup" industry was nothing more than some lonely kids in Canada trading emails about magic tricks.

You probably have figured out that I could go on for pages with my own special brand of bullshit. And might work. But it wouldn't be right.
Maybe it's just me, but when I'm seriously thinking about spending my money on something new, no matter how great it sounds, there is one thing I NEED before I know.
I need to hear what other people say. Doesn't matter what it is. Hell, I went on Google just yesterday to find reviews for my new toothbrush!

Whatever it is you do well, focus on it, and keep building that skill. If you focus on what you do badly, you will only do more of the same.
2) Every single day I talk to friends and family about what I do, and they sometimes have trouble understanding. "You teach dudes to scoop chicks? Dude, that's weird."
Then I show them a letter. I share with them the real stories, not Bullshit Testimonials collected under duress at the end of 48-hour workshops where you are grouped together and no one dares refuse, but REAL letters that men send to me not just to lick my balls and tell me they taste like ice cream, but because good things actually happen to them. And that is important.
3) I need it. I'll be honest, I don't do this for me. Maybe it's for me, for the memory of every single lonely night I spent when I was a teenager, alone in my basement bedroom, no friends, no light, no fun, just pictures on the wall from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues, and a weight bench on the concrete floor, and Metallica's "Master of Puppets" on the stereo. I was a dark, angry kid, and I looked to the beautiful girls to offer me light.
I was Andy Dufresne stuck in Shawshank for something I didn't do. Just like you, sitting in the prison of yourself, with the glow of your computer your only light.
I knew that feeling at 16, when I could not, physically could NOT talk to a girl I liked.
I knew that feeling at 30, when my fiancee walked out the door without saying a word, and I collapsed on the floor crying, and my loyal Akita dog Heed put his giant bear-like head on my lap and let my tears stream down over him.
I knew that feeling at 33, when yet another girl left without a reason, and I sat one night at my computer alternating between lesbian porn and google searches for "how to get your ex-girlfriend back."

i approached this group of 3 girls, and i met this AMAZING girl. Your rapport stuff was fresh in my head and i completely connected with this girl Danielle. I talked with her until the bar closed. I went to SF and took Hristiyan's course in November )right before Thanksgiving) and I wanted to say it was one of the most eye-opening experiences I've ever experienced. What a great man! He truly loves what he does and cares for all his students. Ever since, it seems I have a keen eye for eye contact with women but still have no guts to carry out a conversation. I'm still working on that and am looking for a breakthrough...even if that means breaking out of my extreme introverted shy behaviors. I will prevail.
I just wanted to say after reading your blogs in my lonely hotel room this weekend, I've never felt more comforted by your words because I can relate to them. Even though I can call up 10 different girls I know and have immediate sex with them, it is a very empty feeling because they aren't entirely what I want. Most of these girls found me. About the newsletter the other day about smiling and the teeth-lip touch, is this something that's well known? How have I never heard of this before?
I've always said to people that I can't smile, I just grin, my lips and teeth aren't made that way. But now and again, when I'm not grinning for pictures and people take pictures of me when I'm genuinely happy, I see teeth, and wonder.
So now I can properly smile. On cue. Feels good. Thanks. I'm smiling right now, but it's not on cue.

i heard this last night
and then immediately i went out to chill with some buddies and chicas
the experience i had last night with this new mindset was mindblowing.
no fake game, no long deep questioning inside my head of what line i should use or what stage i was in the game with some of the females or how i was on the alpha list compared with my boys.
it all disappeared.
and i was just there to be a good, fun, real, loving myself, loving life guy.
everything was genuine and completely 100% me.
and it was the first time in years ive had that opportunity.
it was an amazing feeling.
and never have i felt so congruent with myself and gotten such a strong reaction from people.
